The prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood has been renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere on August 8 on Starz.
Season 2 is currently in production in Scotland, with Sony Pictures Television leading the project.
“Our cast and crew have brought incredible passion and talent to Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and we’re excited to continue telling these powerful love stories in Season Two,” said Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner and executive producer. “Just as fans fell in love with Jamie and Claire, we hope audiences will be just as captivated by these new couples when they meet them this summer.”
The official series description reveals that Outlander: Blood of My Blood “follows the romance between Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy), and Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine). Set against the backdrop of World War I and the untamed Highlands of 18th-century Scotland, the series follows two destined couples as they fight to overcome the powerful forces trying to keep them apart—unfolding their stories in unexpected and dramatic ways.”
The cast of Outlander: Blood of My Blood also features Tony Curran, Rory Alexander, Séamus McLean Ross, Sam Retford, and Conor MacNeill.

As previously mentioned, Matthew B. Roberts serves as showrunner and executive producer for the series. He is joined by executive producers Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, and Jim Kohlberg.
